tkach
Here it goes. Is their any way to adept aftermarket sensors for oil and temp to read from my 350 SBC and display on my stock datsun gauges? I lost the sensors when I moved and now need to make the gauges work. Ive been scouring ebay and classifieds however I would like other options. The fact that I will still have to adapt the datsun sensors to the 350 SBC is annoying. Is their any other option without having to purchase aftermarket gauges? Btw motor is a carbureted 350 mild cam intake porting on heads. Jtr radiator.
m1noel
It may be anoying but probably the easiest solution to adapt the Datsun senders. really not that hard and they work. Mike

It has a 1/8" pipe thread so all you need from there is a 1/2" X 1/8" bushing or a 3/8" X 1/8" bushing for the intake manifold. The TS198 reads correctly with the stock gauge. The oil pressure will need to be sender from the Zcar. The Z's oil sender is a 1/8 BSP that is 1 thread count from our 1/8" NPT. I used a 1/8" NPT close nipple and a 1/8" NPT coupling and then used teflon tape as JTR recommended.

Dave
Thanks for the quick replys. Dave about the ts198 which temp rating am i looking for? M1noel I would like to have used my stock sensors but the problem is that I lost mine. So im trying to find parts that are easier to source. Just buy a TS198, its the part number for a temp sender from a Jeep and I think its also for a Toyota. The TS198 is ready to use as is. Just connect it to the wire that was connected to the stock Z's sender. It won't get any easier. I have found no other solution for the Z's oil sender than use the stock one. I may have a extra if you need one, just PM me.
m1noel
I let mine go with the L6 when I sold it, but picked up new ones at NAPA. Not very expensive either. MIke
