G Gress
I've used the search function, but I can't seem to find out if anyone has actually calculated the roll centers for either or both ends of the car. Anyone dunnit?
Guest Anonymous
Sure have. My data won't be of much help to you though as the RC will change with ride height, inboard pickup point, outer balljoint height, strut angle, etc. ... You're best bet is to go out to the race tech magazine site and download the software they have for determining the RC based on measurements for your car. They have a lot of other cool stuff I'd recommend that you download too. G Gress
Cary, just curious, is your car lowered, adjustable lowers, lottsa camber etc? Greg
slownrusty
Greg - I recently installed 20mm roll centers on my '83 ZXT when I rebuilt the entire suspension including a coil over conversion. I lowered my car about 2" in total. You can see pictures of the Roll Centers and the set-up at: www.picturetrail.com/slownrusty go under "Coil Over Conversion" Hope that helps - Yasin
Bob_H
Umm, Roll centers are not something you install. I think you are confusing it with Sway bars or similar. A roll center is not something you can touch, but rather a point defined by the suspension design. It is a point in space. -Bob
Guest Anonymous
Really clean coilover installation . It appears from the pictures (?) that you used a "sleeve" or "tube" lower perch around the strut tube for the adjusting sleeve. Any bumpsteer problems going over railrod tracks or bumps with the strut spacer addition?
slownrusty
Tomahawk - Thanks for the plug buddy! If I understand your question correctly, the tube that you are refering to is actually a sleeve for the threaded collar to rest against. I used this sleevetube to give the threaded collar a clean straight edge to rest against rather than running a bead of weld around the strut housing. I have not expereienced any bump steer issues going over pot holes and train tracks. Mind you, I have completely changed me driving style now that the car is lowered, such that I go around every pot hole and take train tracks at an angle - sometimes veering a little into the opposing lane. You get lots of strange looks from other drivers - oh well! Regards - Yasin
