who dat.sun?
I was wondering if I could/should weld this area back together or if I could cut it out and weld in some new metal. It is where the front sway bar mounts. Any suggestions/advice would be appreciated.
JMortensen
There has been quite a bit of discussion on this topic previously. Bad Dog makes a reinforcement plate. This thread shows 3 or 4 more involved solutions and talks about even more than that. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=105596 Regardless of how you fix it, you might want to think about stiffer springs. That would take some of the load off of the sway bar.
Pop N Wood
That is going to require new metal anyway you look at it. If for no other reason than to seal the insides of the rails from the elements. And while you are at it you can weld in some additional bracing. The Bad Dog reinforcement plates are just sheet metal bent in an L. Pretty simple, but needs welding.
