dsommer
I just ordered the Centerline Azteks and was wondering what size tire will fit. I'm guessing 235/45/17 or do I need to go smaller 225/45/17? Sugguestions? I'm a mail order kind of guy, Tire Rack!!! Thanks, ds
Guest greimann
Technically 7" wide wheel can accept a 225 max. Realistically, I think you can fudge the recommemdation a little if you really want 235's. I recently got some Yokohama AVS ES100 tires. They advertise them as the successor to the Intermediates. So far I don't have that many miles on them yet, but no complaints! http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Yokohama&tireModel=AVS+ES100
Mudge
225s for 7" and 245s for 8", some like to go with even smaller for reasons of sidewall strength (road racin'). If you cheat you wont see as much contact patch gain as you would with the 'correct' wheel width. Porsche GT cars will use 235s on a 9" wheel, 275s on 11", and so on. z ya
For 7's , I would go with 215/45/17's. This would give you a straight sidewall not the buldge look. For 8's 235 or 245's look best.
