Guest jsoza
First off i'm new to the Z-car and I picked up a 1978 280Z with an auto for free. My question is how much power can the stock auto transmission hold, and are there any other transmissions i can use in place of it? I'm soon going to have an RB25 with a TH350 mounted behind it, but i want to build this engine as a a project for another Z i'm going to buy. Bernardd
I use the auto as well. It needs a good shift kit at minimum to hold any kind of power. KEAS in australia rates it up to around 475hp with a 3 pinion planetary set.
MJLamberson
whats the price on one of those kits?
Bernardd
You have to diy or get one from keas in australia. A thread on the z31performance forum has the info to diy. The info is also found on the z31.com forum.
