chopstic
I've been hearing horror stories about our Z cars getting valued very low after an accident by insurance companies. If i get my Z appraised would other insurance companies have to honor that value? For example.... If some driver damages my car and he is at fault for the accident, will his insurance company be liable for the "appraised" value of my car? JMortensen
If you search here and at http://www.classiczcars.com this subject comes up every year or so and you should find some good info. I used an appraisal value to negotiate an "agreed value" with State Farm. In theory they agreed that my car was worth $15K and I've been paying premiums based on that, so if anything happens I *should* be covered for that amount. You will hear horror stories from people trying to get their money out of the insurance companies after an accident or theft despite an agreed value.
