ezzzzzzz Posted February 13, 2008 Share Posted February 13, 2008 Comp trannys are hard to come by and expensive. They are not substantially stronger. The bigger benefit is the direct drive 5th gear. Depending on your driving habits a stock 5 speed (has overdrive) will hold up. Some have updated to a 240SX tranny with the early bellhousing or later Z box. Get a 4.11, swap in your LSD, use a 280ZX trans and you'll have basically the same end result at about 1/5th the cost and it will shift nicer (in my opinion). Six_Shooter Posted February 13, 2008 Share Posted February 13, 2008 Is there a compiled list of trannies and what they are rated at as far as torque capabilities that will fit (easily) into these cars?
