Guest Hillbilliepig
Hey all, have a question about a cam. a buddy of mine that was in the marine corp in the late 80's early 90's and was stationed in japan for 3+ years. while he was there, he had 2 zcars. upon his departure from the corp he brought boxes of stuff home. i have since bought most of his stuff including 1 completely rebuilt n42 head. it has a cam that i can't identify. was hoping someone here might recognize the markings (ofcourse I asked my buddy and he doesn't recall the specs) he does recall it being called a "blue stripe" cam... the cam has a painted blue stripe between the 3rd and 4th lobes, the word "japan" cast between the 8th and 9th lobes, "E30" cast on the opposite side between the 8th and 9th lobes, and a "C" stamped on the very end of the cam. the lift messures about .385 +/- both intake and exhaust I know that this is a shot in the dark, but I thought someone here (that is a whole lot more versed than I am) might recognize Thanks in advance, hillbillie
JMortensen
The rocker ratio of the L heads is 1.5, so the lift on that cam is .5775" which is huge. It sounds like a very large race cam just based on the lift.
