Guest Anyotherone
I have an RB25det that I'm putting into a 280z using the 280zr oilpan and pickup. My question is: what are you guys doing about the dipstick? On the stock RB25det, the dipstick goes straight down into the oil pan, but with the sump on the reverse side, the dipstick won't measure correctly, if at all, correct? Any thoughts opinions and facts are appreciated!

ZDrifter
With the pan removed go from the original dipstick location to the rear of the block on the same side and you will find a brass plug most likely covered in grime. Get yourself a punch and knock that out from the inside out and switch with the dipstick. If you need more of a discription with pictures use the search option and you will find more information. Shouldn't be too hard to find the brass plug tho. Hope this helps.
Guest Anyotherone
Thanks guys. Wow. I seem like a total n00b now - but I swear I tried searching multiple ways yesterday and kept coming back with nothing! Oh well. I'll post pics of the car when we're done, its turning out quiet nicely.
