83zed owner Posted March 19, 2008 Share Posted March 19, 2008 so when am driving my 1983 280zx my fuel gauge works fine, but as soon as i step on it all the way to the floor my fuel gauge needle goes all the way down to E can anyone tell me what it can be?. zmaster Posted March 26, 2008 Share Posted March 26, 2008 the gas goes to the back of the tank, and lowers the arm which reads the gas level which in turns reads on the guage E, and when you brake the guage will read Full... woldson Posted March 27, 2008 Share Posted March 27, 2008 I've had a 82 and 83, this dose not happen at all that I've ever seen. Big long hill, heavy throttle a little. Maby someone screwed with to orentation of the float location in the tank. I've never removed one so I don't know if this is possible.
