Turbo to NA

Yes I ment that.

I have an 83 turbo motor that runs well but the turbo needs rebuilt. I have my 76 that does not run so well. Just to get a decent running driver, and yes I have the correct parts laying around, could I put an NA exhaust on the turbo motor with turbo ECU and have it run fine? Basically the ECU would think it had no boost so it shouldn't matter. I'm just looking at a low cost way of getting my car running decent for now. And yeah - I have a garage full of random z parts to pull from (correct manifolds to match ports)

Thanks

I think it should be ok minus the really low compression.

If you think about it, the AFM on those have a tighter spring to compensate for the boost, and larger injectors because of the boost. Without the turbo pushing the flap, the ECU would be running less fuel than normal. It would be REALLY underpowered because of the really low compression though.

Yep, thats how I ran my turbo conversion before I actually bolted on the turbo. Flat top f54/p90 head with 82 electronics, ran beautifully. But yea, with the lower compression it will be a little sluggish. If you're in a bind, it'll work.
