EMWHYR0HEN
Are you talking about cleaning the inside or outside? I have no experience with this, but if I were to do it I would pressure wash it with some kind of degreaser. or if your talking about cleaning the inside I would just put some gas inside and shake the crap out of it and drain then repeat. myplasticegg
yeah, throw some nuts/bolts or marbles inside with the gasoline. Just make sure you count them before and after.

jasper
I wouldn't use gasoline during cleaning. A real danger of FIRE :fmad:There are kits on the market that come with an acid cleaner, and interior coating for preservation. If not, use some diesel or kerosene and a hand full of nuts in the tank to remove scale/rust/ dirt. Shaken, not stirred.
SpeedRacer
Whoa - do not, I repeat, DO NOT use gasoline to clean your fuel tank! It is very dangerous and besides, it will not clean the tank. Just trying to clean an empty tank can be dangerous so be very careful. You can buy what you need to clean and seal the tank from Eastwood http://www.eastwoodco.com/ or You can take it to these guys and have it done for you http://www.gastankrenu.com/
Chaparral2f
Don't use gasoline to try and clean out your tank! When I moved the filler on my gas tank, I took it to a reputable local radiator shop and had it cleaned in the tank used to boil out radiators. I left it overnight. When I got it back it was clean enough to weld on. It was an inexpensive way and a much safer way than tryintg to do it myself.
