Guest Avid Z
Im getting a 1983 280zx turbo. Ive been looking at alot of Z engine bays and I wanna know how I can get that birds nest off the top of the valve cover. I thought I would just change out all the tubing to clean it up but from what I can see it looks like every one just removes them. Post pics or link me me to a site if you can. thanks
X64v
You do it by going stand-alone. Sure, you can do it with the stock fuel injection, but the easiest/cleanest way is with megasquirt/wolf/whatever. It's been covered 978234.3 times. MJLamberson
the easiest way if your keeping the stock ECU would be to remove the EGR and connections, the hose from the crankcase to the PCV, the hose from the carbon canister to the intake (run one to the TB so you dont waste the fumes), thats just to name a few, painting valve covers makes it look a lot better to. Heres some pics (not as clean as a lot of peoples but way better looking then stock: Before: After: Like I said, not nearly as nice as a lot of peoples but everything I did was free and easy (except the paint)

X64v
What it looks like if you do nothing but switch to megasquirt and ditch the extraneous stuff:
