Cutlass372
Hey everyone, I'm looking to do some suspension work to my 1972 240z and I just can't decided on which way to go. I am really looking for a set of 225f/250r springs but I cant seem to find any. Is there anywhere that offers custom spring rates? I don't have the money to do a coilover setup, even though I really want to.. I'd like to run these springs with a set of Tokico Illuminas or something that is adjustable. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Elliot.
johnc
Arizona Z Car sells a set if 185F and 200R OEM size springs. People also have had success using 1980 through 1985 Chevette front springs on all four corners of the Z. Those springs, after some cutting, are in the 200 lb. in. range. Cutlass372
Would I be able to cut some coils off the Az car springs to raise the rate and lower the car?
rudypoochris
Check this out: http://www.eatonsprings.com/atqCuttingCoilSpringsCalculations.htm Might be able to cut AZC springs to that rate... but you might also need to put in some sort of spacer or something to correct for lost travel - I don't know.
