I pulled the valve cover to intake manifold hose off to check it wasnt cracked or leaking vaccuum. Inside it was a white milky oil. On the place where it goes into the manifold and into the valve cover, these are both with the milky oil as well. So I check the oil on the dipstick and it was clean and clear..... When the car is running the water evaporates and gets sucked into the PCV system where it mixes with the oil residue and makes that milky oil. Thermostat was stuck partly open so the car didn't fully warm up driving it back & forth a short distance to work in cold weather. Just got hot enough to evaporate the moisture in the block and have it condense in the fill tube. Once I changed the thermostat the problem went away. Phantom Posted June 15, 2008 Share Posted June 15, 2008 Not only do you need to ensure it warms all the way up but i'd also watch to see how long it takes.
