US Wheel/Tyre Exporters to AU?

After a set of Enkei wheels for which I have the part numbers, plus am interested in a set of BFG R1 semi slicks. Have tried Tirerack and Custom Wheels Direct but I guess they get flooded with Emails and mine goes into the 'too much time' basket.

Not sure what would be the best prepaid door to door shipping arrangement, I think USPS will accept bare wheels but wheels with tyres may go over the size/weight limit. Tyres are not essential, BFG R1's are not available in AU but plenty of others are.

Any sources? West Coast would be better for shipping costs I guess, PM if you want.

I've used BAX Global to ship lots of different stuff to Oz. I happened to be on the phone with them and they require a wheel/tire combo to be deflated and boxed or crated so its unlikely that Tire Rack, Discount Tire, or the other US suppliers will be willing to ship directly.

You can have them shipped to my shop and I can box or crate them up and send them via BAX. I'll have to charge a couple hours of my time to source the boxes, package, etc. I don't make money on the shipping so my actual costs will be what you're charged.

Having raced on the R1s I can say that they are not anything really special. If you can get the 710s or the Hoosiers those are better tires. The Toyo R888 is about the same as the BFG R1.

Thanks for the offer and information John but that exercise would probably make it all too expensive. I know for sure that USPS will take 15" wheels in boxes and that Tirerack via Fedex export wheels and tyres separately.

I guess my inquiry for wheels with tyres mounted made it too complicated.

EDIT: ooops, why did I say that? The real problem is getting a response from the wheel suppliers. I guess impersonating as a US based customer would fix that but thats the last thing I want to do.

Sorry John, my response above sounds less than receptive to a very fair offer.
