LowCarbZ
Just a curiousity, I was milling through an online parts site for Z cars and couldn't help but notice the staggering price of the e-brake cable for a mid 70's Z. Which prompts me to ask, what the flying F___ is the thing made of? The price was $399, I haven't had that great of a look at the cable yet, but is it made of gold? 91_4x4runner
It's encrusted with diamonds and has platinum connectors between the cable and the turbo encabulator.... In reality, I think its just because its a "rare" part. I'm sure someone could fab up an e-brake cable for much less than they ask... ArizonaZ
Yeah I needed a new e-brake cable, and was shocked at the prices. When I finally found one for the cheapest price, $150 i think, I bought it and never received it, the people at NissanParts.cc decided to refund me and not tell me that they didnt have the cable until I had to ask a week later. The best bet is to look for someone parting out a car and ask them if they have the cable, thats what i did anyways.

rejracer
I replaced mine 11 years ago and I recall paying about 120.00 in 1997 dollars. They are expensive to say the least. I wanted to be sure it was not going to happen again, so I filled the cable with grease/oil to ensure it would not rust again.
