Challenger Posted October 5, 2008 Share Posted October 5, 2008 Anyone came across this problem with their urethane bushings? It seems like the bottom of the spindle (spindle pin housing part) needs to be an 1/8 of an inch narrower. Ive tried pushing it in but the urethane just doesnt budge! What should I try next? I've been using atlanticz's writeup for reference, and so far its helped me out pretty well. He says somewhere in there that he had to sand both bushings down a little in order to fit his in. I was also thinking of blasting mine with CO2 or freezing them a little, but I'm crossing my fingers that it will just fit on the first try! Bolt it all up and feel how much resistance there is in that joint alone. Then reconsider shaving the bushing down to reduce that resistance. Might think about putting zerks in the end of the control arm too so you can keep them lubed. Doesn't work on the inside bushings, but it does on the outside bushings. Challenger Posted November 27, 2008 Author Share Posted November 27, 2008 Well I finally got some time today (on break) and pulled the bushings off and shaved down inside of the bushing. Armand Posted November 28, 2008 Share Posted November 28, 2008 I had to do the same but a trick for any bushings that are a bit too tight of a fit is to throw them in the freezer.
