100dollarZ
it looks like it is VERY corroded. This can be caused by bad coolant (acidic) and anything like that in the system. Dissimilar metals in an engine can do weird things when the coolant turns acidic. Id also check your upper thermostat housing because it cant be much better than that.... Oh yeah, and what do you mean by it stopped working? is it plugged? Im sure alot of members have that part on hand. Good luck
rossman
I have seen them on ebay. As 100dollarZ said I am sure someone would sell you one cheap. I have an extra but it is for a 240 and I believe it's different. If you end up replacing it make sure you soak the bolts overnight with PB Blaster. Even then, at least one bolt is almost guaranteed to snap off when you try to remove it. You might want to invest in a set of easy-outs our you are at it. Had one snap out when I was helping a friend replace his water outlet..thing.. I think he picked up a replacement from a junkyard for $20. Very big PITA for a very simple part when that bolt snaps! sone
i have yet to find it on ebay, what i meant by stopped working is that when this part fails or does its job poorly what should i be looking for as a result of its poor performance? i have just ordered brand new thermostat hosing today actually form MSA, the top half of the housing was actually worst than this, but will be replaced soon so i didnt other to post it, i was wondering what was a PB blaster, and thanks for the tip, luckly i havnt attempted to take it out yet. the junkyard idea is actually no help, the reason is althrough i have seen many z's on the road in california and arizona, Z's are acutally rare in South Florida, i have maybe only seen 3 in Miami, the past 15 years. So yeah a link to a page, an offer for a fairly good conditioned one, or alternative method of purchase would be much appreciated. I also was asking about the part that comes out the left side into the tubing (not in the picture), is that a seperate piece or part of it? sorry for the run on..lol thanks again
cockerstar
PB Blaster is a solvent used to loosen up parts that are going to be known to bind up, especially corroded things. I think the other tube that you are talking about is the crank case ventilation tube. It isn't related to any part of the coolant at all. This is why running a consumable radiator cap is always a good idea
JSM
I've got one, $25.00 dollars shipped. It's even semi polished.

RB26powered74zcar
I also was asking about the part that comes out the left side into the tubing (not in the picture), is that a seperate piece or part of it? sorry for the run on..lol thanks again I think what your talking about is shown on the part JSM posted. The threaded in pipe fitting is part of the heater hose set up if I remember correctly. You should be able to reuse yours, or Jeff may be nice enough to include that piece... rossman
You can get the other part at an auto parts store but you should be able to reuse the one you got. Is it leaking? Just soak the threads in PB Blaster. When I removed mine last, luckily the bolt broke at the head leaving a nice shaft to get vice grips on. Now that I think about it, I don't think spraying PBB under the head really does anything since the threads are much deeper in the part. You might want to try soaking it at the base where it mates to the front cover.
JSM
I don't have the other piece. I am going to the junkyard this weekend and I can check to see if there are any. Your pick shows the threaded piece going into the hosing. Is yours bad now?
