R200 Rear End

BOBBY BATES

Recommended Posts

I also have a question. From what I have read here. To convert to the R180 to a r200 I need the Front crossmember, differential, Mustache bar, and half shafts. Since I have '73 240Z I don't need a longer driveshaft and my transverse link should work with the R200, if I have read correctly. How about the front balancer? Can I use the one from the R180 or do I need the R200 version? Thanks.

If you're talking about the big hunk of metal that some Z's have bolted to the front of the diff, I suggest you scrap it.

This shows the opposite for mustache bar mounting?

http://www.zhome.com/ZCMnL/tech/R200.htm

Which one is right?

No, it shows it correct. As the illustration is labeled in that link;

Pictured above: Rear Suspension For 240Z

The 240-Z has the R-180' date=' that illustration shows how the R-180 mustache bar is installed.

[b']R-180=[/b] Mustache bar in-front of the uprights as depicted above.

R-200= Mustache bar behind the uprights as depicted below.
