Bartman
As most people know S30's have a nice body line that runs almost the entire length of the car starting just above and behind the front wheel openings and running back to just before the taillight panel. I'm currently sanding and prepping for paint and the body line is missing from most of the left rear quarter panel. Anyone have good advice on how to get this body line back? I've heard something about using tape, but I'm not quite sure what the procedure is. I've sanded the area down and applied filler over the area, and I'm thinking of attempting to sand down the filler only above the body line. Once that part is right, then I'll apply blue tape to where the body line should be and sand up to it. Does this make sense?
Challenger
When I did the block sanding for the body line I would just make sure as the sanding block left the edge I pulled it off. If that helps at all, Id assume you would have figured that already.

Savage42
I hear ya! I like a sharp line, too! You have the right idea, as we spent a bit of time on my car (silver hides a bit and the light isn't too good, but you get the idea) and BURRL has awesome lines. B00STDZ
Or you could install a rear cal z kit... trim it down(thats if you dont like the wide look) and fill in all the vents. That would give you the body line.
AK-Z
I used some masking take, then misted the panel with some crap primer, so you can see where the line should be. Them I start hand sanding, I used a 1 inch dowel and glues some 100 grit sandpaper just to shape it.
