Guest zfan
The diff I scored has one half dollar hole and a dime size hole in the finned aluminum cover on the back of the diff. If it is not repairable can I put the old smoothe style r200 back cover on it? Also can the finned cover from the 240 SX diff be used in it's place? Any idea's would be appreciated! Mike C
Unless you modify the rear diff mount, the finned cover has to come off anyhow.
D83ZXT
Does this apply to the ZX's too? Donna
Guest zfan
So what you are saying is I can use the standard r200 rear cover with no problems? Mike
Mike C
Don't know about the ZX. You can use the regular cover with no problems and will HAVE to unless you want to do major reconstruction of the rear diff mount.
Lone Star 1
Mike my LSD has the non finned cover. I think to use the finned cover you have to build are buy a speical bracket for mounting. I have seen someone on this board that sold them a while back in the for sale section.

Guest zfan
Lone Star are you running CV's or U-joint half shafts? If you are using u joint type half shafts how did you put in the shafts. Mike
Lone Star 1
I'm using the original u-joint half shafts. Every thing just bolted right in.
mobythevan
You have to get stub axles from an R200 to go into the LSD diff, then you can bolt up the u-joint halfshafts. BTW, those stub axles are different lengths.
