menzzer37
Hey guys, I really need an 83 turbo dizzy and spindle if anyone has one. I can't seem to find one reasonable or the spindle at all! Let me know if you have anything! Thanks
Mario
A very coveted item. If you want one you have to pay what they ask for.

menzzer37
I'll take the spindle! Is it whole pump spindle or just the top drive gear? either way, how should I pay? paypal? money order?
JSM
The spindle is one entire length that connects the dist. to the oil pump and is turned by the crank. I stole this off ebay but it looks like this:
menzzer37
How is it different than the one off the 76? I'm trying to megasquirt mine. I'll take it if I truly need it. How much?
JSM
The difference is in the top portion that mounts to the dist. itself. It has a different star like shape. From my understanding you need an 82 or 83 dist. to run megasquirt, thus the need for the matching drive spindle. I think you may also be able to use an 81. The 81 dist uses a CAS (Crank Angle Sensor) mounted on the Crank pully itself, which I think is built into the 82/83 dist. Less parts to use the 82/83 and if the CAS fails likely more money out of pocket. I'm not running MS currently. I'm going a different route. From my reading on MS, you will also need to find a ZXT dist. I don't think the earlier sytle dist. support the MS functionality. Don't quote me, you need to read up on it, I think it is the HALL effect format MS needs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hall_effect_sensor You may want to hold off on purchasing until know exactly what you need. menzzer37
This is what i've determined will be the easiest. I was going to to with edis, but I'd rather go a more documented way. Let me know how and how much

steveosupremeo
I've got the distributor for 82-83 for sale for $50 plus shipping. I also have the spindle. I'll do the pair for 65 plus shipping. I'm gonna be going edis when I go MS cause the intake mani I'm using interferes with the dizzy. PM me if interested. -Stephen
