Someone posted this cheap DIY solution up some time ago http://revision3.com/systm/laserscan/ I'm tempted to do some scanning of my own and take it over to my school's rapid prototyping lab. cygnusx1 Posted December 8, 2009 Share Posted December 8, 2009 I was reverse engineering complex machine parts that had no blueprints by hand 12 years ago. I used basic trig, and calipers, to locate the key dimensions. This tool would have been a lifesaver back then.
