theghosttanker
I lost my dashboard VIN tag...don't ask how. Is there any way to get a blank one from anywhere? Anybody have any suggestions?
cygnusx1
Mine is lost too. Someday I'll see if I can have one printed up for me. The previous owner must have swapped dashes but forgot to rivet the plate. It was glued in place. It matched the firewall numbers so I know it was legit. When I had the car painted, the body shop knocked it off and it was lost forever. I think it can be pretty easily duplicated by a reputable trophy shop or something. You could try something like this but it might be suspicious.
Trevor
http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=35121 Get a piece of alloy flashing and some pop rivets at Home Depot. Stamp, drill, and trim to size. For legitimate purposes only.
The love of JDM
Not a bad idea, could also be used to mark rare items or parts worth some money.
