delorean6584
hi all ! i'm building my megasquirt for my stock l28et and i'm in the process of connecting the injectors, i have ms2 v3.0 there is alot of confusion about injector impedance and using dropping resistors ? i read somewhere that the ms2 ecu can handle both but anybody had great experience with that? thanks yan N.B this week i will post pics of my 280zx freshly painted with hybridZ logo on it hehe
Tony D
Using the resistors makes it easier, and takes out any possibility of toasting them while you figure out the correct PWM settings.
Brad-ManQ45
Or you could use racingmini_mtl's P&H injector boards to get everything you can out of the injectors. (faster response time for bigg injectors (assuming turbo app and large injectors - more granularity)...
delorean6584
anybody have a shematic of how to wire it up ? i dont have any resistor now but could buy some from radioshack then make my own... but i dont have any value or how to connect it ? yan
delorean6584
would it be easier to get 81 resistors? or i only needs like 2-3 standard resistors
TONY C
just wire in your factory resistors. They already fit in the car, are the correct resister, weatherproof, and have a quality plug. If you are making a new wire harness you can remove the old spade connectors from the plug and put new in. I have used mine this way from the start and it works Great. delorean6584
and is the stock resistor package a 2 wire plug-in ? and how i wire it up ? in parallel or series with the enjectors ? positive side ?
HowlerMonkey
Stock 1981 280zx turbo resistor uses 7 terminals. One supply and the six individual resisted outputs. Dropping resistors can be wired in anywhere between feed to the injectors.
delorean6584
ahhhh darn.... i had finished the injectors wiring.....so i need to cut all the 6 positive feed for the injectors to wire the resistor package... i had connected it like the 1983 stock l28et.... live and learn i guess
HowlerMonkey
I'm not sure the ecu cares whether resistors are on the positive or the negative side of the injectors since they are only there to limit current as seen by the drivers in the ecu. Care has to be taken if you're using any of the factory harness since many gang both the positive and negative sides of individual injectors together. delorean6584
no i have a new custom wiring, but i had injectors 1-2-3 positive together and 4-5-6 pos together just like the original, they were supposed to be fused and thats all....now i have to split these wires and get each one out of the resistor pack
