adamhoud
So I picked up a junker 83zxt mainly for the l28et in it, it runs, however when accelerating it starts to hang around 4K rpm, but if you let off the throttle a little and accelerate again sometimes it will rev up fine. I was told this is due to the AFM?
scottyMIz
best way i found to tell its the afm is to take the cover off and rev it up if it hangs up use ur finger and push the arm inside a little one way or the other. If it revs up more just by moving the arm then it's off and can be adjusted by loosening the screw and turning the wheel in the direction it ran better. loy
Is it only under load? Or also while standing still?
S130Z
Is this an automatic transmision? I have heard of people having problems on the old autos hanging at around 4k. I guess there is a valve in the trans that gets stuck. That could be your problem, I will send you a link to something similar when I find it. cygnusx1
Try reseating the connectors at the ECU and AFM. Clean them and use di-electric grease.
