260Zz Posted May 4, 2009 Share Posted May 4, 2009 i just picked up a late model 73 260z and i need details of every aspect how to take and drop the fuel tank remove it and put it back in when im done fixing and patching. im young and trying to get into the mechanic / z car scene and i know the basics but i need your help thank you. Pick up a manual, in fact, you can get the factory service manual free online somewhere (carfiche maybe?). Other than all the hoses and emissions gear on the tank, it's held on by two straps. Comrade_Charlie Posted May 5, 2009 Share Posted May 5, 2009 from what I can remember, there is a metal patch in the passenger rear fender well with 3 or 4 phillip screws in it, I striped those, but I got to the filler neck hose clamp without taking that plate out, but its there... should be 2 gas lines in front of the tank, 2 hoses on top, and 2 metal straps holding it on, as far as gas tanks go on my 76 it was easy compared to my 85 300zx.
