LiveFree369
Hey everyone. I was just browsing through the site, and I noticed a few people saying that their clutch has burned out, or they are having problems with it. I am going to be replacing mine shortly, and have been browsing my options. My car will stay stock for a few years, until I have the money to fix her up like I plan. Anyway, I'm confused as to which would be the best clutch to put in with it being stock. I was told to put in a ceramic racing clutch, but heard that if you drive this daily (without racing), it will damage the flywheel. Any advice would be MUCH appreciated, as she will be a daily (spring summer fall) driver until I modify her!!! My clutch is slipping, pretty bad. Also, I have only found clutch kits for 350-400 bucks. Is this about right?
Mayolives
Apparently you are new to our site so I'm will cut you some slack and be nice. There are many quality clutches made by various manufacturers that are intended for different applications like street, drag and etc. There is no "best". The choice is always based on your particular application. The very least expensive would probably come from your local auto parts store but you can never go wrong, for a street, stock application if your order your parts from a Nissan dealer. Do a little searching and your will find that Courtesy Nissan and some other Nissan dealers will offer a discount to z club members. When replacing a clutch that has probably been in the car for a long time, I would recommend doing it right by replacing the clutch plate, pressure plate and through-out bearing. If you need technical advice to do the job, search first and ask questions thereafter and you will be on the best track.
Smokescreen
$99.99 @ schucks for whole kit. Clutch, plate and bearing. And it goes up from there like Mayo says, it's what application you want. your car has the same trans. that mine has( unless it has been swapped) In that case I would'nt go big on a niiiice clutch kit before I was sure I wasn't planning on upgrading the tranny in the future.
