jhill Posted June 22, 2009 Share Posted June 22, 2009 I've had my z for 6 months or so, obviously loving every minute of it. Its still got the as far as I know o.g. L28, with some issues. Still runs like a champ but i'm not sure for how long, there is oil blowby in the spark plugs and just recently started to eat a bit a coolant. I'm trying to limp this engine through for most of the summer to get the rest of the money for the swap. Anyways i was taking the time to do weekly quick overall check of the engine and i couldnt help but take a couple pics, cause i cant figure out what this is. Its capped off on top with a metal plate and welded shut on the bottom. Plus there is a hose that runs to a rusty nail and some duct tape, classic. I've been curious as to what this whole action is since i got the car but for some reason never thought to post. No really, it looks like someone deleted the EGR, no biggie, you don't really need it anyway, the cut and sealed hose below is a give-away on this. Kinda a sloppy job on the delete though.
