MazterDizazter
Hey all, So I lost the keys to my '73 somewhere around the house. Not good! I want to get my car in the garage so I can work on it but the steering wheel is locked and I don't have wheel dollies or anything that'd help me pivot the car with the steering locked. Is there any way to unlock the steering without damaging anything?
1 tuff z
easy, remove steering column cover, then remove the 4 screws that hold the ignition to the column. if the ign is original, tighten the 2 phillips screws [tightening them first makes it easier to remove the 2 without heads on them] and use a dremel to cut a slot in the other 2, then remove them with a reg screw driver. if u don't have a dremel, you can also use a small chisel to 'make' a slot. hope this helps.
