There has been significant damdge and stripping the car has revealed rust were the damage has occured. My panel beater thinks that he will just hammer it out though i think its past the point of no repair and needs to be cut and welded to make it look and actually be structually strong? any advice greatly appreciated
Evan Purple240zt
I would have him fix the external damage and cut the rust out of the body on the inside and fix it. This will keep you from ending up with a warped corner due to heat.
palosfv3
The corner is a simple metal repair . Dont cut out any of the area . Your car appears to have had the quarter replaced at some time in the past. Take the time to clean the inner panel where the weld burns are and properly prime and paint these areas . Your car will love you for this.
Evan Purple240zt
In my experience, if you can see rust on that side it is definitely on the other side too. Can you pull that rear bumper and inspect the area? Maybe you will get off easy and Larry is right.
