jerryb
I need to install a small battery into a track car to make room for intercooler piping. Im thinking a motorcycle or perhaps mower battery. The mower unit pushes about 200 amps.....will this be enough to start a low compression 4 banger?? Its track only...so all I need is start. I think the Miata battery is pretty small as well???? Any other ideas??
Bartman
I ran one of these for a while under my passenger seat: http://www.odysseybatteries.com/battery/pc680.htm. It wasn't strong enough for a street car, but should be great for a track car.
drzed
I have been running a lawnmower battery from Walmart for a few years now with good results. It is for the 260Z in my sig which is mostly a drag car with limited street usage. Never let me down but I don't run a stereo and I've converted to a 280ZX internally regulated alternator. It does have to support my SDS system, an electric fan, and an electric fuel pump. The price is right too!
jt1
I've been using the same PC680 in a track car for about five years now. Works great, 13 pounds. jt
drzed
I forgot to mention that the engine is very LOW compression. 7.25:1 static with a mild cam so you could almost turn it over by hand.
HB280ZT
Look into a Miata battery! They are about the same size as the PC680 and work pretty good. HB280ZT

RB26powered74zcar
I've had this one in the passenger rear tool box for 4 yrs now. I do remove the neg cable when I park it, cause I only drive it as a second/fun car... http://www.odysseybatteries.com/battery/pc680mj.htm
jerryb
Yes it is....just want to keep it simple for now. There is cost and time with that as well. Box, cable, install.... Options options options........ is just relocating the battery inside/trunk out of the option?
