FlatBlack
Take it out and plug it, Put in a Blow Off Valve before the throttle body and you'll be fine.

skib
you can also drill the rivet and replace the spring inside with a stiffer spring.

1badeagle
thanks a ton guys i figured out how to get it apart without drilling it and shimmed it witha 1/8 inch washer. Hopefully thats enough
1badeagle
Ok everyone the shim I tried didnt work. I went to home depot and got a 1 inch pipe plug. The shim was acting like it was just leaving the pop off open. So no more pop off valve for me. Bring on the mustangs.
skib
to properly shim it you need to add a very stiff spring

1badeagle
stock boost is around 7 psi. And this is when the waste gate opens? So when i added my boost controller it does let the wastegate open correct? Sorry Im new to this .
hughdogz
The wastegate is "fully open" @ 7 psi gage. It starts "cracking open" at a slightly lower pressure.

evan1242
i guess you don't have a accurate boost guage? if not really need to get one. at least a cheap one just to be sure that you are not over boosting, and causing detonation. don't go over 10psi when everything else is stock. 1badeagle
I actually put one in from jegs in place of the factory one before I increased boost levels.
Ferrariferg
What about an adjustable pop off valve? Friend of mine has one. Not sure of the brand but it just screws right in.
1badeagle
That thought came to mind, but after Most people said plug it, I went ahead and went that route. Plus it only cost 2$$
