JDM_Love
Whats up HybridZ, Kevin here, I want to Introduce and apologize if i started in the wrong section, im going to be a Senior in Highschool and got my 1st 240sx (second car) and im wondering if i should stay away from this swap or go for it! i do not want to stick with the SR or KA because i believe they are overrated for my blood, 1st off im getting a L28ET for about $60bucks comes with a custom driveshaft fitted for the S13 Chassis and motor and tranny (turbo and intake) not included the guy im getting says the head gasket is blown so he swap the engine for a SR i know theres a guy on this forum who has did the swap but the problem is i do not know if it comes the wireharness, if it dont what kind of engine harness would i need to be using also is it difficult to wire into the Ka harness, not really worried about dropping the motor in so quickly but i need some tips and advice from you pro's!! sorry if i wrote too much
Nizm0Zed
please dont take this the wrong way, im not trying to disuade you, BUT, Why bother with a L series motor???? Just because its cheap? It'll cost you a lot more to go that way. If your keen on putting a straight six in your S13, use a RB series block. Ultimately you'll make more power, and it'll be easier. That conversion itself has been done a lot of times before, so you'll find it alot easier to search for soloutions for your problems. If you do go that way, look around on some of the other forums. Heres some links to get you started. http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread/74700 http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Rb26-S13-Silvia-t233752.html http://www.boostcruising.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=341380 http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=343445

jeffer949
Im moving back home to Newton in a month we should get together. the wiring wouldnt be a problem. You would either need a zxt harness ecu and afm or i personally would go with stand alone. would probably even be easier in my opionon and leave you more room for upgrades
pallnet
Feel free to email me to help fill in any of the gaps. I'm sure you will find most of the info you will need on here and in FSM diagrams from both cars. I don't care what some people have said about it being a bad swap because of it being an older motor then the car. It pulls hard and fun to drive just like a Z except (I hate to say this) the car is much better on my back then my Z was. I have to admit that if we had regular access to RB's I would have just swapped in an RB25DET but I would hate to take a trip in the car and have an engine problem. What's the chances that Auto-Zone will have an RB25DET water pump or oil pump, see my point? Thanks pallnet
