Logoleaf Posted September 1, 2009 Share Posted September 1, 2009 Hi every one, I'm thinking of swap my L28e tranny out of 83 280zx with z31 once. After i've done researching on net. There was no thread about swapping on 280zx. The big thing to concern about is the drive shaft. People were talking about 77z but no dimension about drive shaft for 83z. If you know where can i find the exact size for drive shaft for 280zx. Please help by provide more info of it. Any help will be greatly appreciated. abes Posted September 2, 2009 Share Posted September 2, 2009 Not trying to rain on your parade, but why would you want to go through the hassle of swapping it out with one from a z31? You would need to make a custom mount, driveshaft, and if it's not a t-5 ('84-'86) you won't be able to swap the bell housing to make it fit. Just my 2 cents..
