ritrebor
Very nice looking engine, quick question how much did you shorten the driveshaft to fit the 700r4? Don't remember how much I had cut off from the TH350 to fit the 700r4 but the drive shaft is 19-1/2" u-joint to u-joint. i love it/ it's beautiful! Thanks ritrebor

ritrebor
Thanks! Picked up a 16gal RCI cell last year at a swap meet. Followed the information I got here and started cutting. Built a frame from 1†steel tubing to enclose the cell and battery. Used 20ga sheet metal to enclose the cell and battery. Painted it all with Por15. Picked up a billet battery holder on Ebay to house the Optima battery. Got a Jegs trunk battery cable set. Had to relocate the vent to the rear corner so I can put a cover over the rear to carpet. Plan to put a billet flip cap to be able to gas it up. I left the floor risers in so I can hopefully put a stereo amp under the cover and still have my rear cargo area. Cost wise Cell 75 Battery 100 Billet battery holder 50 Battery cable 15 Steel tubing 25 Sheet metal 30 An fittings Lots $ Was able to sell my gas tank so it wasn’t so bad. Now I hope to be able to run dual exhaust. Will try to get more pics. ritrebor

Mitch
can you link us to that strut towre bar also? or is that a homebrew?
ritrebor
Got the strut bar on ebay. Search "Datsun 240z strut bar". Alamo Performance in Arlington, TX The nice thing about the bar is you can install it in the up position or down position to clear thinsg in the way. ritrebor
ritrebor
Decided to stay with the small block and am selling off my big block stuff. Picked up some new induction systems and not sure what I will end up with. Found a polished tunnel ram with nitrous lines under the manifold. Also picked up a B&M blower with 40DCOE Webbers. Leaning towards the B&M blower set up with twin webers as I might be able to fit it all under my hood. Also picked up a fiberglass cowl hood so hopefull everythng will fit under it. Starting to look like a speed shop. LOL ritrebor Edited August 7, 2010 by ritrebor
ritrebor
Pictures of the fiberglass hood, Msd 6al ignition, and billet trans-cooler to suplement the one in the radiator. ritrebor

ritrebor
Went shopping again today and picked this up. I like this one better as it's fully polished and goes well with the weber set up. Will be selling the unpolished one. ritrebor

ritrebor
Haven't done too much to the car lately as I ran out of room in my warehouse. Found this on craigslist. Guy bought it but never set it up. 6,000lb 4 post lift. Perfect for my Z. Now I have more space and it will be easier to work on the Z. ritrebor
ritrebor
Did the Toyota 4Runner vented front brake kit. Found out the spacer is different on a 240z vs a 280z. Had a 240z spacer and couldn't get the rotor on. Had to cutdown the spacer to fit. ritrebor Edited October 11, 2012 by ritrebor
ritrebor
Finished my exhaust. Had a problem because I put the fuelcell and battery in the back I didn't have any room for a muffler in the stock location. Originally bought 2 Flowmasters and couldn't put them anywhere under the car. Ended up going 2-1/2" pipes to a Dynomax Ultra Flo X-Muffler which has the cross over tubes inside the muffler. Dual 2-1/2" in and Dual 2-1/2" out. Just hope I have enough ground clearance. Approx 3". ritrebor
ritrebor
Redid my remote starter solonoid and switch panel attached to the rear strut tower. Panel has the starter solonoid, master power switch, and posts for charging the battery. Had to add the charging posts because it was too hard to get at the battery once the rear speaker box was in. Built the rear speaker box to hold my speakers. ritrebor
