darkzebra
Has anyone done an EDIS install using 3 pulleys on the crank, i.e. on a car retaining both PS and A/C? I have searched but can only find BRAAP's single pulley and Derek's dual. If there is no alternative: 1. Would the 3 pulley, with 90-teeth wheel, from a 1981 280ZXT work on a 1982 280ZXT? 2. Would EDIS function efficiently with a 30-1 wheel? 3. Can this 90-teeth wheel (which is closer to the block) function for EDIS as a 30-1 wheel, by removal of the alternate 2nd & 3rd tooth? Any help would be appreciated.
Brad-ManQ45
EDIS requires a 36-1 wheel PERIOD. Anything else and it won't work for EDIS. You would have to make use of the wheel decoder in MegaSquirt'NSpark or provisions in whaterver aftermarket ECU you were planning on running. If wqorse came to worse you could either buy another dampner or use yours and put 35 magnets in holes drilled around the edge of the back plate on it and mount an hall sensor to pick up the signal. I will be using MSExtra or MSIII and will be utilizing a 12-1 setup for my application at the crank, and have a single sensor and magnet somewhere under the valvecover on the cam for the #1 TDC signal. darkzebra
I should have mentioned I will be using MSII. In addition to the pulley on my 82 ZXT, I also have a 2nd pulley from an 81 ZXT. Willing to consider all options to keep my PS and A/C (car is a daily driver).
