  1. I don't know if this will matter but we already have a megasquirt setup to install as soon as we can have the downpipe done for the T3/T4 turbo upgrade done.
  2. Actually bought and modified it (spacer, cable linkage, etc) about five years ago. It was from a 240sx. Did not realize it was from an automatic. Had the head rebuilt and then the car was laid up. Just gave it to one of my sons and his mechanic got the car started. Sounded great but the mechanic said the TPS was wrong. I do have the original 280zxt TPS but the bolt up is different.
  3. WTB the TPS for a 60mm throttle body upgrade to a 1982 280ZX turbo, suitable for use on a 5 speed gearbox. My mechanic claims the one I received when I purchased the upgrade throttle body years ago is for an automatic transmission.
  4. WTB engine oil pan for a 1982 280zx turbo car. I am located in Queens New York.
  5. Courtesy Nissan in Texas tells me Nissan no longer stocks the rear end seal for the 1982 280Zx turbo car 5-speed gearbox - which I think is a Borg & Warner? Anyone has any idea where I can get a replacement? Also, Nissan wants an arm and a leg for the little rubber? connection between the oil-pan and the turbo drain-pipe. Is there any other less expensive replacement i can use?
  6. Looking for a relatively clean hood for a 1982 280ZX turbo car. Prefer, if available, one that I can pick-up either in New York City or Albany, NY area.
  7. I have removed the engine from my 1982 280ZXT to replace the head. I will also replace the timing setup. This is the 1st time I am doing this type of repairs, and I am confused by the hugh variety of different sealants at the autoparts store. I am looking for recommendations on which sealant I should use with each of the different gasket involved, including the oil-pan gasket. Any instructions on how to use the gaskets, e.g. spread thick, or thin film only, etc, would also be welcome.
  8. Still looking for a Black replacement console
  9. Thanks Jamal, but I only want a black one. Yours seems to be cracked and repaired. At this time I prefer not to buy a damaged one. I will wait awhile and see if another member has a better one.
  10. WTB: Black instrument console for a 1982 280ZX. This is the plastic part below the dash in which the radio/stereo is sited. Need only the plastic part - NOT the metal bracket. Please email or PM price including shipping to NY 12303
  11. Ordered one from ZBarn. Thanks again everyone!
  12. Thanks everyone. Wow! And I thought it was a freak incident caused by the potholes! I guess I am returning to stock bushings.
  13. No further contact from Mario except that he may have one. Any other member has this left front suspension TENSION COMPRESSION ROD available for sale? Would much prefer a used one before I face the dealer in my area.
  14. Thanks Jon. Mario: Yes to both Q's. I thought it snapped because of the damn potholes in my area. The mechanic wanted to sleeve it but I told him to wait until I try the forum. Email me a pic and pricing shipped to NY 12303. My email is rrampertab@yahoo.com
  15. WTB: Left side TENSION rod, with nut, of the front suspension of 1982 280ZX. This part is bolted to the underside of the lower ball joint on the transverse link. See attached pic. Please PM cost including shipping to NY 12303.
  16. Already had a 1981 head rebuilt - just a simple build. I have decided to go with the T04E-50 trim, standard turbine. I want quick spool-up (I back off after hitting 100 mph!). I was planning on running dual boost - 10 psi regular and 15 psi on demand. Pfabrications.com sells the turbo for $600. Anyone dealt with them before? Is that a good price? My next problem is installing an external wastegate. I want to avoid using an external wastegate adapter between the manifold and turbo, so as not to push the turbo closer to the steering gear, and because it would also make the 3" DP even harder to fab. Anyone has ideas or photos of other arrangement for an external wastegate on an S130? In fact any recommendation on who can do a 3" SS DP for me in Queens, NYC? Again, Thanks everyone!
  17. Any other S130 owner would like to share their upgrades or thoughts?
  18. Open to suggestions on a turbo upgrade for my 82 280ZX, that would not include major modifications (I can't weld). Would be happy with 300 RWHP on stock bottom end with 100K, so don't really need anything exotic. Already upgraded fuel pump to Walbro, installed ISUZU IC, and 3" exhaust. Installed oil pump and oil cooler from 81 280ZXT. MS and EDIS in the works. Plan to do a 3" or 2.5" DP when I can locate someone here who will undertake its fabrication. All suggestions are welcome.
  19. Thanks! It is a 1982 280ZX turbo, with analog combo gauge. As I remember I ran new power wire to a 30A fuse then a 30/40A relay, then to the pump. The pump was grounded to frame. The relay was originally triggered by ignition. I noticed the pump would continue to run even if I did not start. So I switched my new pump relay to be triggered instead by the original fuel pump relay (the one behind the fusible link). I will check it tomorrow, but maybe if you or anyone else can tell me the correct way to connect a Walbro fuel pump to the 82 280ZX I can try that and see if it corrects itself.
  20. My fuel guage will read OK when the car is off, but jumps to empty as soon as I start the car. The inset quarter tank gauge continues to work fine. The connections at the tank looks fine, with no corrosion. I did change to a Walbro fuel pump, which has its own separate circuit. However, I set the walbro relay to be triggerred by the OEM fuel pump relay - which seems to allow it to cut off if you switch to ignition and don't start. Any suggestions? Maybe I connected the Walbro incorrectly?
  21. Yes, I did but it did not help. The relay worked fine so I took a shot at replacing the combo switch. That was the problem so it is fine now. Thanks
  22. Bought one from az240z. Admins please close
