xchevyimpala69x Posted November 6, 2009 Share Posted November 6, 2009 I just picked up an absolutely cherry 280z hood from the junkyard to put on my 240z.The only problem is, the hood is vented, and the hood vents were missing when i found it. My question is, what can I use as an alternative? I've looked up prices for new vents, and boy they're pricey. I have also looked up used ones, and they are usually beat up and also expensive. dhp123166 Posted November 6, 2009 Share Posted November 6, 2009 Those cowl hood vents are awesome. I use a set on my DD. I knew that they had them in CF but I don't remember where I had seen them. Darn I wish I had known... Anyhow here is my bargain vent cover fabbed from a scrap of perforated steel for a hood that I got for free... Price; free for part, and 2.00 for mounting hardware. It's not stainless so I am gonna shoot it with some clearcoat. Now I have a "custom hood":mrgreen:!! Cellphone picture is all I have at this time, sorry... It seems like the only other alternatives besides those sweet fiberglass and carbon fiber vents are to make my own!
