Delasangre4231 Posted November 12, 2009 Share Posted November 12, 2009 1984 Turbo 5-speed So I was told that the shifter linkage has busted a pin or something resulting in me not being able to use 3rd and 4th gear. I bought it this way so I have no idea how it happened. All I know is that everything the guy told me so far is a lie so no I wonder about the shifter linkage. I was told by a buddy that it may be the syncros? Can this be something that a rebuild kit will fix? Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
jc052685 Posted November 12, 2009 Share Posted November 12, 2009 Well there is no "linkage" persay...the shifter resides in the transmission its self. Some broken or bent shifter forks inside the tranny could be the cause of the problem. I would pull the shifter out of the tranny its self and inspect the bushings and make sure its not something simple.
