Guest zfan
Has anyone purposly added weight/weights over the rear end/axles to gain superior traction? Last time at the track with bad traction my friend put some lead bars over the passenger side rear end. I think 80 to 100 lbs if I'm not mistaken. It seemed to help. He said guys do it all the time! Anyway Im just curious if that is the case. Mike
Guest greimann
There is a balance between just enjough weight to improve traction and too much weight that slows the car down. You will have to experiment with it. I know that my best times were with 1/2 a tank of gas. Almost empty and I couldn't hook, too full and it slowed the car down. utvolman99
it helps to have a 400 gallon gas tank like the ZX. If I remember right its over 20 or something. I sold my ZX after high school.
Mike C
The front rear weight thing can make a difference, but the left to right should not in an IRS setup if memory serves. Seems to me it would be better to get more weight OFF the front than add more weight to the rear.
