RB NEO Question

Other than that cover is there any other way to tell the differences between a RB NEO and and regular. There is an engine on EB claiming to be a Neo. But it does not have the cover and its identicle to mine. I assumed mine was a RB out of a Nissan Stagea because of the ECU and some of the newer sensors. But this engine online and from a good seller is claiming to be a NEO. So is there any way to tell by looking other than the cover itself.

Heres a good link with some pictures. It seems like its got a protruding device from the throttle body area and the TB to intercooler connector is a little different. The VTC solenoid looks different and some sensor plugs but I'm not really sure which ones.

Link? Maybe we can help you ID it.

EDIT: If it's this one, then it looks like a NEO to me based on the differences.

I concur - that's definitely a NEO motor (the TB assembly is the big give-away).

It's also fairly hammered - the CAS is trashed, the BOV is missing, there's no flywheel or clutch and it has a bent A/C idler...

But note that the NEO fitted to the S2 C34 Stagea RSFV (i.e. automatic) does not have TCS, and has a blanking plate over that section of pipework.
