660Z
Im just wondering what i would have to do to get my ac to work again....i belive everything next to the blower motor is still there including the two cut hoses, and nothing of the ac is in the engine compartment. can i use any r12 ac parts from other makes or can i only use datsun parts. and where does those ac hoses route thru the firewall? i see no openings..in fact if it wasn`t for them and the reostate/temp knob on the side of the console i wouldn`t even think it once had ac......thanks Mark
Mike kZ
All 240Zs did not come with AC from the factory. Now you could have a dealer installed AC, but it sounds like you do not have AC, are you sure those hoses you see are not heater hoses? Mike C
The hoses run underneath the battery tray. No 240s had factory air they were all dealer installed. MSA sells partial kits (either the compressor kit or the other stuff) in addition to complete kits. The compressor is the newer style that mounts low on the drivers side instead of high on the pass side like the 240 dealer York setup. I am planning on just buying the MSA complete setup with barrier hoses for r134. I think it is $700. Going through your system several times before finding any and all leaks is a pain. I prefer to have all new parts upfront!
speeder
I have the MSA complete system on my 78 280Z - Easy install, good price, and good performance. I believe that this same system fits the 240. The compressor is on the lower driver's side of the engine.
Guest SagZ
Rick, I was wondering who makes your wheels and what size they are... also where did you get your flares and spoiler from ... killer ride man.
speeder
Thanks sag - Wheels are obsolete 1995 vintage HRE modulars, 9X16" rear, 8.5X16 front, all offset 1-1/2" outward to fill the flares. Spoiler is Kaminari wing, Flares are IMSA style, both from MSA.
pparaska
My 73 had the dealer installed stuff. The two holes for the A/C hoses were side by side horizontally, just above the frame rail next to the battery tray
