Empire
I couldn't find the right answer in a search. So, can I take the reservoirs off the master cylinder for my 240 and put them on the 280zx master? I ordered in a reman'd one and it doesn't come with them, and they say they can't get them. Napa sells the whole unit brand new but it's 3 times the price. Nissan can get the reservoirs at a decent price but they want $130 for the caps LOL! Any info would be great. Administrators RTz Posted December 2, 2009 Administrators Share Posted December 2, 2009 (edited) Yes. As long as it's the earlier dual reservoir 280zx master. Edited December 2, 2009 by RTz
Empire
Thanks. Re-purchased it today. $70 reman'd is a lot easier to swallow than $250 for NAPA and $550 for Nissan. My concern was the size of the reservoirs is different.
CJBrian
I just picked up a rebuilt 79-81 280zx master for napa for $34 bucks plus $5 core charge. Napa part# 11-1837. My reservoirs cleaned up nicely and fit tightly on the new master. I hope to find another large reservoir to match the front and rear. I also picked up new caps from MSA for 9 bucks a piece. http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/CTGY/SBC12
Gcontrol
I have the 15/16 master with 240z reservoirs on my 73 240Z. No issues at all. 82-83 280zx master does not work with the 240z reservoirs.
