Cody 82 ZXT
ok so I'm getting ready to start the car in the next couple of days after the rebuild. I had to replace my alternator with one from a local parts store because mine was doing funny things to the car and the electrical system. My question is that the new one has a different plug on the plug that has the white battery wire and the little blue(don't know what it does)wire. I really don't want to have to take this back and get all pissed off because it's been awhile since I bought it and really don't feel like the hassel. I'm pretty sure the white wire should hook up to the one post the it has but, where does the little blue wire go? Thanks
jaime240z
Just a reminder: if the car hasn't ran in a while and you have a new alt. make sure you have a full charge on the battery before running the motor with a new alt. I'm not sure about the wiring. Jaime
Cody 82 ZXT
Thanks for the reminder. I'll put the trickle charger on tonight. By the way it was the right alt . It just had a plug that went into the case instead of sticking out of the case. Didn't see that untill I got to the parts counter. Big waste of time. fl327
speaking of alts, i recently had to replace mine as well, and when i got it, it would not clear the alt bracket on the motor, i had to use a die grinder and clearance up the alt so that it would fit, and it was the right one for my car??????
