username Posted December 16, 2009 Share Posted December 16, 2009 i am swapping in a 84 z31 eccs in to my 81 zxt. i am using a 83 harness. questions, the 81 does not have a fuel control modulator, the 83 harness does. i do not have a FCM. how do i by pass the FCM? should i just run a 12v switched source to the relay lead? at that point i may as well run new 10ga to teh pump and use a newer,larger relay. thoughts please. i am putting in the harness today. actually i did and noticed the fcm not there.lol. thanks tony Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

KnightoftheRound Posted December 17, 2009 Share Posted December 17, 2009 The swap seems to call for removing the dropping resistor pack for the injectors. My car is an 82' with an 81' L28ET swap, and it would not run once warmed up until I decided to try it with the resistor pack plugged in. Runs perfect now. jeffp Posted December 17, 2009 Share Posted December 17, 2009 I don't recommend the 84 box, but rather the 88-89 ox for your conversion.
