letoburito23
I just reaplaced the head gasket and had my head shaved and rebuilt and now that i've got the engine put back together completely i can not get it to run right. It stumbles under acceleration from 1000 revs to 3000 revs then will rev faster but the power still isnt there. Its a 76 280z fuel injection. Also to even get the motor to run i have to tweak the distributor all the way advanced.
RB26powered74zcar
Are you 100% sure you got the oil pump, oil pump drive, distributor correctly lined up for your ign timing?
BluDestiny
Also timing chain in correct spot?
letoburito23
the chain is in the right spot we triple checked it to make sure its possible the oil pump set up might be off one notch but how would the car run like that? The car is running good now no clamps on the pcv valve hose was the stumbling problem but the distributor still has to be tweaked to the advanced side like an inch past where it can be screwed in place. it accelerates fine but when it gets into higher rpm's while driving it starts missing and sputtering a little bit
