Tim240z
I believe it is the 4L60E. Tied into the engines computer for shift points and lockup.
Mike C
Yes, it is a 4L60e which is the electronic control version of the TH700r4. The performance mode just changes the shift points and converter lockup to a more performance oriented map.
Guest Jeff Rimmer
I've been trying to find out what transmission is being run in Ram-Air trans-ams. My uncle (having the serious midlife crisis blues) Bought a 94 Ram-Air Trans-Am not to mention a Nija.. But anywho I've been amazed at how well the automatic performs! I've driven the six speed before, loved it, but I must say the auto really plants the power to the ground well! So I was wondering if anyone could give me the low down details of the tranny or point me to a website, and possibly what electronics are involved in its operation. The "normal" and "perform" modes are what I'm intersted in as far as electronics. Thanks JR
