alec77
so i got this real nasty bruise right on the front of my 77 280z. does this look savable or should i drop the $ on a new hood and put my hood attachment on it?
blue72
It's steel. Steel can be reshaped. The better question is do you have the experience, tools and/or patience to fix it?
jasper371
My 240's got a ding like that except its right on the front right corner of the hood. We've been pounding it back up from the inside, then we sanded it. We're putting a skim coat of bondo on it to make it all smooth, then we're gonna paint over it. It's not really that difficult. It's not like you're gonna hurt anything by trying. If all fails, just try to find another hood.

sileightygx
i was ready to look at a picture with something seriously mangled. that is definitely fixable! if you dont have the tools or experience, a body shop can repair that for not too much. alec77
well i think il get to work on fixing it. the most i can do is mess up and then il be back to 1 and buying a new hood like i was planning
Pharaohabq
yeah what is that scoop or strange growth on your hood. I mean, maybe you like it, and that's fine, but daaang. Fix your hood if you want, but I'd be looking to replace, just to smooth the lines a little.
two40zjunky
I think that attachment was an extra part from one of the cars used in Madmax Edited April 5, 2010 by two40zjunky
T-Bone028
Isnt that hood scoop the OEM correct fix to underhood heating issues? I'm pretty sure they were installed on cars that had customers coming in for overheating issues and fixed under warranty.
